Ok, you’ve seen a ton of new pre-made margarita cocktails and maybe you’re curious if any of them are really good? We’ve done all the “research” for you – yes yes, we’ve sampled a bunch of canned/ready-to-drink margaritas on the market and compiled a list of the best ones for you.
These drinks are perfect for summer… you can throw them in a beach bag or cooler and have a margarita ready to drink without having to mix one yourself.
It is a slightly sweet and very well balanced margarita with the traditional citrus flavors of a classic margarita. The subtle agave flavor comes through immediately and has a refreshing, tangy finish. We love this cocktail because you get two servings in one can with 5% alcohol by volume (abv) per serving. We recommend pouring it over ice, but it’s just as tasty canned. What we like is that it also makes a great blender. Since the abv isn’t extremely high, you can definitely mix it with tequila if you’re looking for a stronger drink.
It is definitely one of the most premium ready-to-drink margarita cocktails. The elegant and refined glass bottle sets the tone for what you are about to experience. This cocktail is made with Hornitos, a mid-range tequila, which would be our recommendation for making your own margarita at home. This cocktail has a 20% abv, similar to what you would expect from a margarita at a bar. As the name suggests, we highly recommend drinking it with ice cream.
Tart, a little sweet with a hint of orange. This canned margarita is made with real tequila, triple sec and lime, exactly the kind of ingredients you’ll find in a classic margarita. It’s 12.5% abv, so you’ll definitely get a light buzz with a can. We recommend pouring it over ice and adding a squeeze of lime.
This superb cocktail is made from weber blue agave wine. Yes, you can make wine from agave! However, you would never know it was a wine-based cocktail…the flavor profile is very similar to a tequila-based cocktail, but you will get more of a “wine buzz”. We love this cocktail presented in a 750ml bottle because it is high in abv (12%) but only 100 calories/portion! It’s also gluten-free and organic, so you won’t feel too guilty drinking it.
If you’re like me and call your tequila over ice with a splash of lime juice “a margarita,” then I’ve got the best canned tequila drinks for you. Mamitas Tequila and Lime And Tequila and Lemon-Lime Compa Soda are more of a tequila and soda with a twist of lime drinks. Both containing around 100 calories each and virtually sugar-free, they are very easy to sip.
