Okay, I had a lot of fun talking about how style the midi skirt and how big sweater style so I’m back today to talk about mini skirt styling. This silhouette can be polarizing, but I love wearing a great mini skirt during the colder months. Adding tights, wearing tall boots, and adding knee high socks are just a few of the ways I make this style work for me. Below I’m going to break down some mini skirts that I’m loving right now as well as how I would wear them in the months to come!
COMBINE A MINI SKIRT WITH BOOTS
A mini skirt was made for a great pair of tall boots! Lately I’ve been wearing my mini skirts with Riding boots, western bootsor one minimalist and elegant boot. When combining boots and a mini skirt, I often like to add even more interest to the layering by adding a high sock! Some of my favorite combinations to create with a mini skirt and boots are this cream brushed wool mini skirt with these brown boots And this cable sweater. If you need more layers I would add this pinstriped coat! Another good combo would be this pleated mini skirt stylized with these boots and paired with this jacquard sweater Or this one.
STYLE A MINI SKIRT IN A MINIMAL WAY
Although I generally aim to make everything extra and over-the-top, I enjoy a minimal look every now and then. I bought this super simple everyday black mini for under $50 and it’s a staple in my wardrobe (you can see one way I styled it here). For a more minimalist look, I would go with an elegant pump, fitted turtleneckAnd oversized coat. For a minimalist yet dressy look that I’m obsessed with this mini skirt stylized with this body, those jeweled pumps And this short coat. Some other mini skirts that I love and would look great styled in a more minimalist way would be this mini in crocodile relief, this pleated mini for less than $40And this luxurious navy blue mini.
STYLING A MINI AS A SET
You know I can’t live without an ensemble and there’s nothing chicer than a little mini ensemble! Some favorites at the moment are this red skirt And this jacket it would look amazing with these red patent Mary Janes, this tweed mini skirt it goes with either this jacket Or this jacket (you can see how I styled it here) And this green sweater skirt return to this matching short-sleeved sweater. When styling a mini skirt set, I usually keep accessories minimal, like pairing an ensemble with these simple hoops Or these studs.
STYLE A MINI SKIRT IN A CASUAL WAY
Although I generally choose to keep things dressier here, I love more casual looks. Sneakers and ballet flats are the perfect shoe option for creating a casual, yet stylish mini outfit. I imagined this plaid mini skirt with these brown ballerinas Or these And this polo sweater. Another casual look to love would be this pleated skirt, these sneakersAnd this oversized striped sweater.
