As decided by a group of 580 hospitality industry leaders, four major hotel chains were honored with at least one destination ranked among the world’s 50 best hotels: Accor, The Four Seasons, Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental.
Deciding where to use hotel points can sometimes be a daunting task. But a recently released hotel rating scale can help you determine where to use Accor Live Limitless or World of Hyatt points.
Four major hotel programs saw their establishments rewarded during the inaugural edition of the The 50 best hotels in the worldincluding two at Accor and one at Hyatt.
Even though boutique hotels get the highest number of ratings, the major players are still among the best.
According to 50 Best, the ratings were established by voting on “a panel of 580 global industry experts” from nine regions around the world who wish to remain anonymous. The individuals are each selected for “their expert opinion and experience in the hotel industry.
Among major brands, Four Seasons has achieved the most recognition with three hotels making the Top 50 list: Four Seasons Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River with a rating of 3, Four Seasons Firenze with a rating of 9 and the Four Seasons Astir Palace with a rating of 35. Another top brand Bangkok hotel was honored among the top 50, with the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok ranking in 10th place.
Accor Hotels have been honored on the list twice. Raffles Singapore was ranked 17th by the judges, while Savoy London came in 47th place. The only other hotel bookable with the major hotel points system is the Park Hyatt Kyoto — bookable with The world of Hyatt points – ranking 30 on the inaugural Top 50 Hotels list.
While hotel rankings are new to 50 Best, the brand has been ranking other sectors of the hotel scene for years. Other global rankings include the 50 Best Restaurants and the 50 Best Discovery Destinations.
