Claire Sulmers, CEO, always imagined herself at the head of a Fashion magazine since she was younger and 17 years after creating her fashion site, she is finally seeing the fruits of her labor in such a revolutionary way.
“When I was a teenager, I loved reading magazines, but I often lamented that I never saw women who looked like me: women of color, with different shapes, sizes and hair textures,” Sulmers said . “After working as a journalist for several years, then becoming a blogger turned CEO, I never imagined having my own magazine. But there !“
Supermodel Jessica White is the cover girl, and it seemed fitting that a woman of color who has worked in the fashion industry for years would grace the cover of our magazine.
From modeling for Vogue and Harpers Bazaar to walking shows for legendary designers like Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs, White has a whole slew of modeling gigs under her belt, so when we asked her to be a part of this remarkable moment, naturally she assumed the position.
Unapologetically, White opened up to Sulmers about exploiting her sweet girl days, trials and tribulations with ex beau Nick Cannon, and the importance of spirituality and faith.
